Location
: Corbett's Call of The Wild Safari Lodge is located
at Betalghat, Uttranchal, it is between Ranikhet and
Corbett National Park and 60 kms from either way.
Betalghat
is a sleepy little village on the banks of the Kosi
river that abounds in Mahseer on the edge of the jungles
where Jum Corbett found his calling. And now, you have
a very good reason to stop here. Two things stirke you
immediately when you take the detour. first the lodge.
It is a delightful place. It has been created like a
forest dak - bungalow from the bygone era. And it comes
to view only gradually as you walk down natural stone
steps amidst innumerable flower - beds that have obviously
been very carefully tended to. You feel charmed.
You
may be able to see tiger, leopard, wild boar, sloth
bear, mountian goat, barking deer and sambar. And do
keep a pair of binoculars handy - you will find perched
o trees just right next to your room or cottage, a charming
variety of birds - parakeets, bulbul, forktails, magpies,
pheasnts, chukors, quails and so on. You can take nature
walks, go fishing, bike around, take an early morning
drive to Bhatronjkhan to see the snow peaks - glow -
to - gold, play a game of scrabble, or simply let your
mind wander.
Accommodation
: When you walk inside the rooms, you are confronted
with the kind of interiors where you would love to tuck
yourself in. Fireplaces, wooden ceilings, stone facade,
lightwood furniture that has been specially made, comfortable
bathrooms with a basket of toilet - ries, spaccious
showers and lots of hot water, smelling clean, feeling
good, looking out to a glorious view of the river and
the mountains and orchards and grass, here is where
yuo want to put your feet up and solve a crossward,
take in lungfuls of crisp air and smile beatifically
for no particular reason.
No
TV, no Telephones, except at the lounge that has a large
- screen TV, a huge fireplace, and separate sit - out
area for those special barbecues and stargazers, looking
out to the boat - shaped swimming pool. This is an exclusive
place with an eight room block and twelve cottages.
There are a few tents also.

: Palate tickling menu pampering guests and providing
the best of Indian, Chinese and Continental Cuisines.
